Here are some things that I did with Elise to help prepare her for her baby brothers arrival...
* read books about a new arrival or mummy being pregnant.
* talk about the baby and explain how important being a big sister/brother is
* use dolls/cuddly toys to replica a baby. Bath, feed, change and put them to bed whilst explaining this is what you will be doing with their new brother/ sister.
* include them in choices, hospital outfit, toys, pictures for the nursery etc
* get then to choose a present for the new baby and also buy a present from the baby to them to exchange when they meet for the first time.
* if they are abut older, give them a scan photo to take to nursery/pre school to show to the class. This was something Elise loved to do and felt so proud to tell everyone she was going to be a big sister.
I hope you have found these tips helpful. I would love to know how you prepared or are perspiring your child/children for a new arrival. Let me know in the comments.
Thanks for reading.
